Introduction

Welcome to the on-demand resource page for the Understanding and Improving Laboratory Animal Welfare Workshop hosted by FLAIRE Consultants.

  • This workshop is aimed at animal technicians, veterinarians, research workers and others who want to improve their understanding of this topic.
  • Course tutors are Professor Paul Flecknell and Dr Matt Leach.
  • Online content is available from the start of the workshop.
  • Participants will be able to access workshop specific online content  for a period of three months. Access to the other e-learning modules and the RAT website will be available for one year.
  • Online learning modules are delivered via this website and the live sessions use Microsoft Teams.
  • You will be sent invitations to the live sessions directly from Teams.
  • We will also use an application called Mentimeter (mentimeter.com) for the interactive sessions. This web based tool does not require you to have an account.

Day 2: Severity & Reduction Strategies

  • Part 3 – Assessing Severity (60–75 min)
  • Part 4 – Reducing Pain, Distress and Suffering (45–60 min)
