  • Institutional responsibilities when humanely killing animals

    PIL AB Article

The Establishment Licence gives the Institution a range of responsibilities to ensure that the provisions of A(SP)A are observed.

Module K or PIL AB?

This collection of articles provides information on the humane killing of laboratory animals, and is undertaken as part of the Core modular training of new research staff (PIL AB in the UK). You will also be given practical training in appropriate methods for individual species within your own Institution.

If you have been told that you only require Module K, which is a module for people who will carry out euthanasia of animals, but will not undertake any regulated procedures (ie, you have been informed that you will not require a Personal licence), then follow this link to Module K.
